Dead by Daylight turned 10 years old and Behaviour Interactive marked the milestone with a fan event in Montreal, unveiling the roadmap for the next decade of the horror multiplayer game.
The immediate highlight was the confirmation of Jason Voorhees, a character requested by the community for years, arriving in June. A new survivor named Shane Wiigwaas—the game's first Indigenous character—launches June 25. Upcoming chapters include Art the Clown from Terrifier (November 2026), a Scooby-Doo collection, and Diablo-based content.
On the technical front, the game will receive a sweeping visual overhaul launching in 2027 and modding support, both moves aimed at sustaining development for another decade. Behaviour confirmed there are no plans for Dead by Daylight 2, betting instead on continuous evolution of the current title. As a bonus, all players can claim 10 million free Bloodpoints.
Meanwhile, the film adaptation from Blumhouse announced its director: Icelandic filmmaker Thordur Palsson (The Damned, The Valhalla Murders), working with a screenplay by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Palsson emphasized capturing the game's signature tension and dread.
