Fable showcased new material during Gamescom 2026. According to Xbox Wire, Playground Games released 18 minutes of gameplay centered on a quest through Bowerstone, the reimagined capital of the series.
The video showcases world interaction mechanics (every building can be entered and houses purchased), encounters with characters such as Humphry (disgraced leader of the Heroes' Guild), and how choices and consequences unfold in the game.
The footage also displays multiple combat sequences in action, building on what was already demonstrated in hands-on sessions earlier at the event.
Fable launches on February 23, 2027, with early access for the Premium Edition beginning February 18. The game will release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud, and Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
