Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24 on PS5

It's official: Silent Hill: Townfall will launch on September 24 on PlayStation 5. According to the PlayStation Blog, the new title is being developed by Scotland-based Screen Burn Interactive in partnership with Konami and publisher Annapurna Interactive.

The game represents a significant shift for the series. For the first time, the franchise experiments with first-person perspective while incorporating retro technology and direct combat into gameplay. The setting is placed in Scotland, reflecting the work of the local developer.

Producer Motoi Okamoto noted that Konami was introduced to Screen Burn by Annapurna Interactive, which has a strong track record with narrative-driven and art-focused games. Okamoto mentioned he had personally played Screen Burn's previous titles, including "Stories Untold" and "Observation", and felt confident entrusting the project to them.

Regarding content, Silent Hill: Townfall will offer three main endings accessible from the first playthrough, plus a secret ending unlockable after completing the game once. According to Jon McKellan, director and writer at Screen Burn, player actions throughout the experience determine which ending is reached, rather than relying on a simple binary choice at the end.
