Capcom open to revisiting Mega Man X in the future

While Capcom focuses on Mega Man: Dual Override, the studio remains open to exploring the Mega Man X franchise in a future project. According to Game Informer, series producer Shingo Izumi stated that Mega Man X is an "important series" Capcom would love to revisit if the chance arises.

The statement came during a recent interview about the new title coming to Switch 2. Izumi did not confirm dates or development details, only signaling strategic interest in bringing back the series, known for its classic games that launched starting in 1993 on Super Nintendo.

Mega Man X and its spin-off Mega Man Zero left a mark on generations of fans, with the main series last appearing in a new release over a decade ago. The producer's remark leaves open the possibility of a new chapter once Capcom completes its cycle with Dual Override.
