Total War: Warhammer 3 overhauls endgame with Chaos invasion rework and individual victory conditions

Creative Assembly revealed major changes to Total War: Warhammer 3 during its What's Next livestream. Update 9.0 and the Lords of the End Times DLC redesign endgame events in Immortal Empires campaigns, which previously merely spawned additional armies without delivering the apocalyptic tension promised.

According to associate design director Sean Macdonald, the new End Times endgames address a structural flaw in campaign conclusions. Each faction now has individualized victory conditions that reflect their story and goals, making Archaon's arrival and other crises feel like a genuine existential threat rather than a generic late-game event.

The DLC introduces three new Nurgle champions and completely reworks the Vampire Counts faction. Patch 9.1 will include a long-awaited siege rework. Creative Assembly continues developing Neferata as a separate character, with further details coming later.
