Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls officially launched last week, but while PS5 players are reporting a solid experience, the PC version stumbled at the starting line.
According to IGN, the game received a "mixed" rating on Steam, with roughly 44% positive reviews out of 2,561 total. PC Gamer reports an even lower score, sitting at 56% negative reviews among nearly 1,600 comments. Eurogamer notes the issues span from stuttering to netcode problems, alongside mandatory PlayStation Network account requirements that block players in regions without PSN support.
Adrenaline indicates even owners of high-end hardware are experiencing severe performance drops regardless of lowering graphical settings and resolution. PC Gamer also highlights that official Linux support is absent, compounding complaints from that user base.
Developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear and Blazblue, the title is a 4v4 fighting game with a 21-character Marvel roster. According to Push Square, the PS5 version runs smoothly, and players have been encouraged to disable crossplay with PC. Shacknews reports the developers have acknowledged ongoing performance issues and asked for continued feedback as they work toward fixes.
