Slay the Spire 2 gets its biggest patch yet with new relics, buffs, and significant nerfs

Slay the Spire 2 received its most substantial update to date, according to Mega Crit. The patch rebalances the deckbuilding roguelike with deep changes affecting both cards and relics, forcing players to rethink their strategies from the ground up.

Two new Neow relics headline the changes. Dowsing Rod adds a Dowsing into your deck upon selection, while Neow's Sacrifice grants one Ambergris and adds one Guilty to your deck, each with additional circumstantial effects. Per GamesRadar, these serve as the foundation for understanding the broader overhaul.

Card reworks are extensive. Necrobinder's Eidolon was redesigned to play every Ethereal in the Exhaust pile, while Regent's Pillar of Creation saw its value tuned down, now providing 5(7) Block the first time you create a card each turn. Numerous other cards received both buffs and nerfs to recalibrate dominant strategies in the metagame.

Mega Crit demonstrates commitment to keeping the game relevant long-term, making careful cuts even around beloved mechanics. The patch underscores the ongoing refinement effort that defines development of its predecessor's successor.
