MSI has officially opened pre-orders for the Claw 8 EX AI+, its latest gaming handheld powered by Intel's Arc G3 Extreme processor. According to the manufacturer's official store, the device is priced at US$ 1,799, positioning it in the premium handheld segment. It ships with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, an 8-inch FullHD display with 120 Hz refresh rate, and Windows 11 Home.
The launch arrives as SteamOS expands beyond AMD-based handhelds. Valve's latest SteamOS beta version 3.8.7 added compatibility with Intel platforms, and a content creator has already demonstrated the operating system running on the MSI Claw. Until now, SteamOS had official support limited to the Steam Deck and Legion Go S, with beta versions available for Asus ROG Ally and select AMD-powered devices.
This new Claw marks the second generation of MSI's handheld line with cutting-edge Intel processors. Reviewers who handled prototypes at events like Computex praised the device's build quality as a benchmark for future handheld gaming PCs on the market.
