Pearl Abyss is exploring the possibility of adding a multiplayer mode to Crimson Desert. The studio's CEO, Heo Jin-young, confirmed that there is community interest in the feature and that the game has structural potential for it. "I am aware of the great interest in multiplayer, given that Crimson Desert was initially planned as an online game," said Jin-young. "It is true that the action and open-world structure of Crimson Desert have potential for long-term expansion." Despite acknowledging the opportunity, the executive cautioned that it is too early to make concrete promises. Pearl Abyss continues to study not only how to implement the functionality, but also whether it would align with the game's vision. Crimson Desert is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
