According to Eurogamer and IGN, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has been delayed on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch just hours ahead of its scheduled July 23 release. The last-minute announcement came from Paramount Games Studio, developer Gameplay Group International.
The Switch version will launch as Standard Edition only, lacking crossplay support with other platforms and additional language localizations beyond English at launch. PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam remain on schedule. In a statement, Paramount said it was "committed to bringing these features, along with upgrading to Deluxe Edition, to players as soon as possible".
The delay sparked backlash from Xbox fans, per IGN. No official explanation was provided regarding the technical reasons behind the postponement. The studio promised updates on the timeline for restoring the affected versions.
