It's official: Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first new mainline entry in the series in 20 years, hit 1 million copies sold on its first day, according to Capcom. The milestone was announced by the company and celebrated on social media.
The game launched simultaneously across multiple platforms and appears not to have cannibalized sales with The Blood of Dawnwalker, another title released around the same period that also surpassed 1 million copies sold.
With this result, Onimusha: Way of the Sword ranks among the highest-selling entries in the franchise, bringing the series' total accumulated sales to 10 million copies. The launch reinforces Capcom's strong performance in 2026, which includes Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata among its major hits of the year.
