Quake Champions ended its free-to-play model with update 1.31 and transitioned to a paid game. According to id Software, the shift removes battle passes, weekly challenges, premium currency, and login rewards. The Microsoft Store version has been shut down, leaving the game exclusive to Steam.
All champions now come unlocked for any player. Anyone who purchased premium currency in the last two months will receive an automatic refund. Players who accessed free versions of the game retain full access at no additional cost.
The change also eliminates most in-game purchases. The majority of cosmetic items are now available for all players to equip. The paid version is available on Steam.
