Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' open beta is now live on PS5 and PC through July 27. According to the PlayStation Blog, Sony and Arc System Works revealed game updates at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, announcing Phoenix Cyclops as the first DLC fighter arriving fall 2026 as part of four additional characters planned for year one of post-launch content.
Per IGN, Phoenix Cyclops draws from his Phoenix Five incarnation in the Avengers vs. X-Men comics and is voiced by Ray Chase, who also voices Cyclops in Disney+'s X-Men '97 series and in Marvel Rivals. The character will feature Optic Blasts, close-range offensive pressure, and Phoenix Force powers. Arc System Works described his fighting style as unleashing "devastating Optic Blasts, relentless close-range pressure, and the cosmic flames of the Phoenix Force."
The open test grants access to multiple modes, including story mode, though some fighters remain unrevealed ahead of the full launch. Per PC Gamer, this marks the first time the game is available outside PlayStation. Rock Paper Shotgun reports the Comic-Con panel also premiered the game's anime-style opening movie.
However, TheGamer notes PC players are reporting performance issues and stuttering even on high-end systems. Additionally, VGC reports PlayStation Network experienced an outage hours after the beta went live, with a large queue of players attempting to connect.
