God of War Laufey, officially announced by Sony during June 2026's State of Play, has yet to receive a confirmed release date. However, according to insider NateTheHate2, known for reliable industry information, Santa Monica Studio is reportedly targeting the first half of 2027 for the sequel's launch.
Responding to followers on X, NateTheHate2 stated he had heard that was the production's target, but emphasized the information is not set in stone and internal plans may shift. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier also indicated in his podcast that the game appears to be in an advanced development stage.
The God of War franchise has traditionally launched in early periods of the year — God of War (2018) released in April and God of War Ragnarök in November 2022. A first-half 2027 debut would align with that historical pattern for PlayStation 5.
