Slitherine acquires Blood Bowl publishing rights following Nacon's insolvency

Slitherine, the publisher behind the Panzer Corps series and Warhammer 40,000 games like Battlesector and Gladius, has acquired the publishing rights to the Blood Bowl franchise. The acquisition comes after Nacon, which previously held the rights, entered insolvency in February, leaving the series' future uncertain.

Developer Cyanide had announced plans to update the game and rerelease it as Warhammer Blood Bowl, incorporating the tabletop version's latest rules. That project was in development but was disrupted by Nacon's financial collapse.

With the change in publisher, there is renewed hope that development can resume. Slitherine has a track record of sustaining strategy franchises and games based on established intellectual properties, particularly within the Warhammer ecosystem.
