CD Projekt Red profits from Witcher and Cyberpunk; new IP Hadar expands

CD Projekt Red released solid financial results for the January-July 2026 period. According to GameSpot, the company generated revenue of 435 million PLN ($116.4 million), up 23% year-over-year, with net profit of 249 million PLN ($66.6 million), a 37% increase from the prior year.

Revenue was driven by strong sales of The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, plus increasingly significant licensing revenue. Per Destructoid, Cyberpunk 2077 surpassed 40 million copies sold, while the Phantom Liberty expansion reached 15 million. CD Projekt also benefited from partnerships, including Cyberpunk 2077 collaborations in Wuthering Waves and Apex Legends, plus strong performance from Cyberpunk TCG on Kickstarter.

Regarding development, The Witcher 4 remains in full production and hitting internal technical milestones, GamesRadar reported. The company is also investing in the secret Project Hadar, which remains in concept phase. According to IGN, the Hadar team includes over 30 people and CD Projekt plans to expand to 50 developers by the end of 2026, focusing on gameplay prototyping.

On artificial intelligence, CD Projekt reaffirmed it will continue "predominantly using people" in The Witcher 4 development, per GamesRadar. Co-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that AI can be useful in certain areas, but the studio does not plan to rely on complete AI generation.
