According to GameSpot, Nintendo announced that D-Hopper and Zero Racers, two games that never launched originally, will be available on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass from August 4, 2026.
D-Hopper, originally titled Dragon Hopper, is a fantasy action-adventure game developed by Intelligent Systems, the studio behind Fire Emblem. Players control Prince Dorin on his quest to defeat an evil regime and rescue his loved ones, fairies, and elemental spirits. Zero Racers is a racing game inspired by the SNES classic F-Zero, serving as a canceled spin-off of the series.
Both titles would have launched in 1996 had the Virtual Boy not been discontinued. With only 22 official games released in Japan and the US, the console became known as one of Nintendo's biggest failures, receiving active support for less than a year.
The announcement comes as part of a wave of Nintendo Switch Online updates. That same month, on August 13, Nintendo will also add Super Mario Sunshine to the service for Switch 2 owners with the Expansion Pass.
This marks the first time D-Hopper and Zero Racers will be widely available to the public, ending more than three decades of obscurity.
