Dave the Diver: In the Jungle releases today

It's official: Dave the Diver: In the Jungle, the expansion to the acclaimed indie game, is available starting today, according to Xbox Wire. The content brings Dave to a village in the jungle, where he opens a new restaurant and faces challenges far removed from the base game — including turn-based combat against spiders and snakes, hunting with a rifle, and, for the first time in the series, fishing with a traditional fishing rod.

The content pack costs $10 USD and delivers dozens of hours of gameplay. According to PC Gamer's review, players can spend over 25 hours exploring, earning favor with villagers (in a Stardew Valley-like dynamic), and battling roughly half a dozen new bosses. Cutscenes receive even more visual polish and humor compared to the original game.

Developed by Mintrocket, In the Jungle is now available on PC (Steam Deck verified) and other platforms. An official live-action short film, directed by Anthony C. Ferrante (director of all six Sharknado films), was released to promote the expansion, bringing an appropriately irreverent and lighthearted tone fitting the franchise.
