Arc Raiders has rolled out an update that splits its matchmaking system by team composition. According to patch notes, the game now tracks player playstyle separately for Solo, Duo, and Trio modes, matching them into appropriate lobbies for each scenario.
The change stems from feedback collected during a matchmaking survey in May. Embark, the developer behind the extraction shooter, had confirmed months earlier that its aggression-based matchmaking was real, sparking ongoing debate among the community about how it should operate. Some players complained of being consistently placed in aggressive lobbies even when playing solo.
With the update, a player who prefers a calm, resource-focused approach in solo ranked can switch to an intense PvP playstyle in trio without the system forcing them into aggressive lobbies. "Now there's no overlap," said Ossen, Embark's community lead. "You'll be able to go from friendly questing and plant-picking in Solo rounds to adrenaline-fueled PvP Trio games."
The update also opens Expedition 4 and teases a crossover with The Finals, Embark's other FPS. The game, which launched in October 2025, continues to crack down on item duplication exploits, with the studio reporting that the percentage of players with unusually high profit rates dropped below 1% for the first time in months.
