Guns of Eschaton, final game from Half-Life 2 art director, officially announced

Eschatology Entertainment has officially announced Guns of Eschaton, a soulslike FPS reimagining the American Old West as a dark, supernatural setting filled with bizarre enemies and powerful bosses. The game spans a twisted 19th century landscape from the West Coast to the East Coast of a dying America.

The game's striking visual direction comes from Viktor Antonov, the legendary art director behind Half-Life 2, Dishonored, and Wolfenstein: The New Order. Antonov passed away in 2025 at age 52, but completed his work on this final project before his death. He had co-founded Eschatology Entertainment in 2022 alongside Dmytro Kostiukevych, Fuad Kuliev, and Boris Nikolaev.

According to PC Gamer and other outlets, Guns of Eschaton combines gunplay with soulslike combat mechanics and is listed as "coming soon" on Steam. The announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer showcasing the game's gothic cowboy aesthetic.
