Valve has finally completed the rollout of the Steam Frame after months of anticipation. According to GamesRadar, the VR headset is now available to reserve, with two storage options: the 256GB model costs $1,059 (£889) and the 1TB version is priced at $1,299 (£1,089). Both versions come with controllers and Half-Life: Alyx pre-installed.
Pre-order registration follows the same reservation system used by the Steam Controller and Steam Machine, allowing sign-ups between now and September 17th, according to GamesRadar. After that date, availability will depend on stock.
The Steam Frame marks the conclusion of a strong year for Valve hardware launches, which also included the Steam Controller 2 and Steam Machine. The decision to bundle Half-Life: Alyx as the flagship title reflects the company's historical strategy of pairing games with new hardware, similar to how it launched Aperture Desk Job alongside the original Steam Deck.
Valve has maintained its Steam Deck 2 plans remain unaffected, the company confirmed to IGN, stating that the current RAM memory price crisis has not impacted development. The company continues focusing on "a very delineated performance improvement" for the next handheld generation, according to PC Gamer.
