After exactly two years in early access, Fields of Mistria reached version 1.0 today. The game from developer NPC Studio, often described as Sailor Moon meets Stardew Valley, officially exits Steam Early Access with its full release.
According to GameSpot, the 1.0 update brings long-awaited features: marriage, children, and a series of proposal and wedding events. The game also adds new quests such as "Saturday Market Plaza" and "Repair the Bell Tower", plus increased caps for town reputation (to 100) and NPC heart levels (to 10). Among the more playful additions is a rideable chicken mount.
According to PC Gamer, the game stands out for its Game Boy Advance-inspired artwork and shojo manga-style character design. The main story, which involved restoring the city of Mistria after an earthquake through material gathering, reaches its conclusion in version 1.0. The title combines farm simulation with its own magic system, plus fishing, livestock raising, and relationships with townspeople.
Fields of Mistria keeps its early access launch price of $14 USD on Steam. Reception among players has been so positive that GamesRadar notes many forgot the game was still in testing phase.
