Exodus, an action-shooter RPG openly inspired by BioWare's Mass Effect series, revealed 40 minutes of gameplay showcasing the protagonist's appearance. According to Push Square, the title is described as an almost complete "spiritual successor" to Mass Effect, arriving as the new Mass Effect was cancelled following BioWare's closure.
The announcement comes days after EA officially cancelled Mass Effect 5 (Mass Effect: Universe) and shut down BioWare as part of a global restructuring. That game had been in development for years and was set to be an ambitious franchise entry.
Exodus was already in development and now gains visibility among disappointed Mass Effect fans. The gameplay demonstration offers an extensive first look at how the title plans to fill the void left by Mass Effect's cancellation.
