Atlus has confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will not include a romance option with Yosuke, a key party member in the game. According to producer Kazuhisa Wada in an interview with GamesRadar+, the team thought about it but decided against implementation: "That is a lot of work," he explained.
Cut voice lines from the original Persona 4 had long suggested that Yosuke was once romanceable during development. The remake sparked fan speculation about which romance routes might change or be added in the revival.
Yosuke will still receive some adjustments in the remake, though a romance option is not among them. Wada did not elaborate on what specific changes the character will see in the new version.
Persona 4 Revival is also replacing its entire English voice cast. Wada noted that the original actors, who recorded more than a decade and a half ago, are now scattered: some have left the industry entirely, while others like Yuri Lowenthal (Yosuke's original voice actor, now recognized for his role in Marvel's Spider-Man) are difficult to schedule. Troy Baker and Laura Bailey, who voiced Kanji and Rise respectively, are committed to major projects.
