Jennifer English steps away from Tides of Annihilation voice role due to health concerns

Jennifer English, best known for her performances in Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, is stepping away from her role as the English voice of Gwendolyn, the main protagonist in Tides of Annihilation. Developer Eclipse Glow Games announced the news on social media, citing "personal health reasons" as the reason for the departure.

On her Instagram story, English shared a personal statement describing the decision as "difficult, yet personally necessary." The actress expressed gratitude for being "part of Tides of Annihilation since the game's inception" and praised the development team. She noted that she "recently found herself needing to slow down and reassess the commitments" she had taken on.

While stepping down from the voice acting role, English will remain involved with the project in an advisory capacity. Eclipse Glow Games has not yet announced who will take over the English voice role for Gwendolyn.

English is among the industry's most decorated voice actresses, having won best performer awards at both The Game Awards and the BAFTA Games Awards. Beyond the titles mentioned, she has also lent her voice to characters in Elden Ring and other major productions.
