It's official: Microsoft has announced the expansion of Xbox backward compatibility to PC. According to Xbox Wire, the initiative lets players enjoy their classic titles on computer, reinforcing the company's cross-platform gaming strategy.
The announcement came from Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation at Xbox, who highlighted the ability to access favorite games across different devices. The program builds on Microsoft's existing backward compatibility effort between Xbox Series X|S and previous consoles.
The move expands the reach of backward compatibility, a cornerstone of the Xbox Game Pass service, and reaffirms the company's commitment to letting owners of older games continue playing their titles on modern hardware.
