Splatoon Raiders launches on Switch 2 with day-one patch and soundtrack on Nintendo Music

It's official: Splatoon Raiders is now available exclusively on Switch 2. According to Nintendo Life, the launch includes a day-one update with bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. The patch is required to play online.

The spin-off pivots from the series' traditional multiplayer focus, instead emphasizing single-player action and exploration across the Spirhalite Islands. The game draws inspiration from looter-shooters like Borderlands and Destiny. In an interview with Eurogamer, Nintendo EPD developers revealed Raiders originally started as a base defense game before shifting toward "a faster spin-off with a strong sense of action."

Monolith Soft, the studio behind the Xenoblade Chronicles series, contributed to development. According to Nintendo Life, the studio has also worked on previous Splatoon releases. The game launched to positive reviews, as covered by Notering.

Nine soundtrack tracks are now available on Nintendo Music as a special release, sampling the game's original score. Nintendo has already confirmed that Splatoon 4 is in the works.
