Elden Ring receives patch 1.17 and the Tarnished Pack DLC this Friday (28), according to FromSoftware. The free update brings adjustments to weapons, shields, spells, and parry abilities, with emphasis on performance improvements across equipment and magic four years after the original launch.
The Tarnished Pack is a paid expansion priced at US$ 5 that includes two new starting classes (Idus Knight and Heavy Knight), three Torrent cosmetics (Tree Sentinel, Carian Silver, and Funereal Night), NPC invasions, and additional weapons and armor sets. Notable additions include Leontiel's Greatsword, Reed Great Katana, Hefty Scimitar, and Golden Order Flail, along with items purchasable from in-game merchants.
Tarnished Pack content is available both through the standalone Tarnished Edition and as separate DLC on PC, PS5, and Xbox. Players on previous platforms must update to version 1.17 or higher to access the paid pack.
The release also marks Elden Ring's debut on Switch 2, expanding the title's reach among Nintendo players.
