Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops, from 2010, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, from 2012, are coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in July. The announcement came from Treyarch's official account, the studio behind the Black Ops series.
According to PlayStation Universe and Insider Gaming, both games arrive as direct ports of the originals, not as remasters or remakes. The conversion is being handled by Iron Galaxy.
So far, Activision has not detailed pricing, included content, or how the games' online features will work, since their servers and systems are dated. There was also no official word on Xbox or PC versions.
Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are among the most fondly remembered entries in the franchise, known for their campaigns, multiplayer, and Zombies mode. Bringing them to PlayStation puts these classics in front of players who did not have easy access to them on current consoles.
