Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to Starfield following strategic shifts across the company. According to the developer, the game "remains an important part of our future," putting to rest concerns that the title would be sidelined.
With more than 17 million players logging nearly a billion hours since launch in September 2023, Starfield is entering its third year of ongoing support. Bethesda plans to expand the Settled Systems with new stories, targeted gameplay improvements, and additional updates.
The highlight is the rollout of new Starborn content scheduled for 2027. The developer also intends to continue investing in Creations, the customization system already used by over 40% of the playerbase.
The announcement came as part of a broader statement on Bethesda's pipeline, which also confirmed Fallout 5 in preproduction and remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas in development.
