A Halo trailer that was set to debut during PlayStation's State of Play event in June was pulled by Microsoft in a last-minute decision. Sources cited by Bloomberg identified Xbox CEO Asha Sharma as the driving force behind the change, creating friction between the two manufacturers.
The footage was instead shown during Xbox's own showcase the previous Sunday (June 7). The reversal reflects broader strategic shifts under the company's new leadership — Sharma's team also reportedly cancelled a PlayStation 5 version of Gears of War: E-Day that had been in development.
The move signals a departure from the cross-platform content sharing that had recently begun gaining momentum. While Microsoft has not officially addressed the cancellation, the incident underscores a reshuffling of the company's priorities under its new management.
