Confirmed: Mortal Shell 2, the inventive Soulslike from Cold Symmetry, arrives August 20, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The date had been kept under wraps until now, though the game has been locked in for release this year.
According to Push Square, the base version costs £44.99 / $49.99, while the Devout Edition adds £5 / $10 for three days of early access, the Obsidian skin set, and additional outfits for all eight Shells in the sequel. Pre-orders are now available on the PS Store and other platforms.
In a new trailer released by Cold Symmetry, the studio showcased the sequel's refined combat progression and arsenal, including shotgun attacks as a fresh addition. Like the original, you control a primordial hero who can equip Shells (special entities) to dramatically shift their abilities and fighting style. The developer promises a significantly larger world and polished combat compared to the first game.
Mortal Shell 2 launches ahead of September's crowded release window, securing breathing room in a less congested period.
