Relic announces Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, wave-defense spin-off

Relic Entertainment has announced Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, a standalone spin-off that shifts the traditional RTS formula. According to PC Gamer, instead of full war campaigns, the new game is a "wave defense" title that pits players against 12 escalating rounds of enemy attacks, complete with powerful bosses and dynamic battlefield events.

The game retains the "beloved tactical foundation" of previous entries but introduces a roguelite progression system designed to encourage experimentation and replayability. Four distinct factions, each with unique strategies, abilities, and progression paths, are playable across five battlefields specifically designed for this mode. Rock Paper Shotgun describes Final Stand as a "snackable" and newcomer-friendly take compared to the full-scale strategy sim.

Two-player co-op support has been confirmed. Release is targeted for July. This announcement follows Relic's confirmation of Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition, a remake of the original game marking the series' 20th anniversary.
