Palworld 1.0 arrives in under a month without forcing data wipe

June 14, 2026 · 1 min read · Notering

According to Pocketpair, Palworld's version 1.0 launch — announced at this year's Summer Game Fest — won't require players to lose their save data and can proceed normally. However, John Buckley, the company's head of publishing and communications, recommends starting a new playthrough.

"You do NOT need to wipe your data for Palworld 1.0," Buckley wrote on the game's official Discord. "But you should." The suggestion stems from substantial adjustments coming with the update: Pocketpair has overhauled game mechanics and added new content at scale.

Buckley explained the reasoning: "We want to respect the time and effort you've invested," he stated, adding that "starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld" given the transformations. The company has not yet disclosed specific details about all the changes arriving with 1.0.

Palworld has already accumulated millions of players since its early access launch on PC and Xbox.
