According to Push Square, Exodus unveiled 40 minutes of gameplay featuring the debut appearance of the game's protagonist. The title is an action-shooter RPG with obvious inspiration from BioWare's beloved Mass Effect series, positioning itself as a spiritual successor to the franchise.
The showcase arrives at a significant moment: Mass Effect 5 has been cancelled following BioWare's closure, which occurred weeks ago as part of layoffs at EA in the aftermath of the publisher's acquisition by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
Exodus carries the sci-fi premise that drew players to the Mass Effect universe, offering an alternative for fans mourning the end of development on the original series' next chapter. The extended gameplay reveal marks a significant step in the game's promotional push ahead of its launch.
