Phantom Blade Zero has already sold over 1 million copies before launch, according to estimates from market analyst Rhys Elliott at Alinea Analytics. Of the total, approximately 850,000 prelaunch copies were sold on Western platforms Steam and PS5, with additional sales on China's Tencent-owned WeGame platform pushing the figure above 1 million.
Of Western prelaunch sales, around three quarters came from Steam. Overall, nearly two thirds of total prelaunch copies originated from China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong, reflecting developer S-Game's Chinese roots and the involvement of martial arts actor Donnie Yen in the game's cast.
The simultaneous global release arrives October 29 (October 28 in North America, accounting for time zone differences). The action game launches on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 with a strong critical reception of 88 on Metacritic. Analysts suggest Phantom Blade Zero is positioned as one of the period's major releases, arriving ahead of GTA 6's launch in weeks.
