Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches April 8, 2027

Square Enix confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation as April 8, 2027 during the PlayStation State of Play in September. The announcement came alongside approximately 10 minutes of new gameplay footage and a trailer showcasing several original Final Fantasy VII characters, including Vincent and Cid for the first time.

According to the PlayStation Blog, Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third and final chapter of the acclaimed remake trilogy, delivering the epic conclusion to the story that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020 and continued in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The game will launch simultaneously across all platforms: PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Square Enix also confirmed that both physical and digital versions will release on the same day.

Beyond the main launch, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will receive two story expansions available as a Story Expansion Pass. The first expansion focuses on Sephiroth, while the second centers on Vincent and the Turks, with both expected between winter 2027 and spring 2028. Both expansions will be available individually or as a bundle.
