Nintendo announces two Directs for next week, with Zelda 40th Anniversary showcase

Nintendo has officially announced two consecutive Nintendo Directs for next week. According to Nintendo Life, the first presentation is a The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct scheduled for September 8 at 3pm BST (10am ET / 7am PT), running for approximately 30 minutes with coverage of "a variety of information related to The Legend of Zelda".

The following day, September 9, a general Nintendo Direct will take place at the same times, as confirmed by GameSpot. This second presentation will run for 45 minutes and be followed by a Nintendo Treehouse livestream lasting roughly 110 minutes for deeper looks at featured games.

According to Eurogamer, the broadcasts arrive at a strategic moment, as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake was announced for Switch 2 later this year, though few gameplay and visual details have been revealed so far. Destructoid notes that the consecutive Directs will serve as showcases for both the 40th anniversary of the series and new titles coming to Switch 2 and Switch.

The Directs follow a busy Gamescom, solidifying September as Nintendo's traditional presentation month, continuing a pattern the company has maintained nearly every year over the past decade.
