Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen confirms hard mode arriving in October

Confirmed: Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen will include a hard mode when it launches in October. Director Kento Kinoshita, speaking in a Steam Q&A session, stated the new difficulty was created to "challenge experienced players and bring a sense of tension to the adventure."

The addition addresses one of the original game's most prominent criticisms: an uneven difficulty curve that makes most enemies become too easy to defeat as players level up. Kinoshita promised the mode will offer a "satisfying challenge" for veterans who have already reached the level cap.

Producer Naoto Oyama added that much of the expansion's content was designed specifically to deliver this challenge to experienced players. Dark Arisen will also bring 60 FPS on consoles, another feature the community had requested.
