Owlcat Games has grown to 600 employees and reaffirmed its commitment to hardcore computer RPGs. In an interview with PCGamesN marking the studio's 10th anniversary, co-founder and creative director Alexander Mishulin discussed the company's future direction. "We will continue to make CRPGs because we love them," he said. "We do not want to become stagnant. We will be trying different approaches for our RPG games, trying to find the best possible fit for the idea of the game."
The studio is best known for Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, titles that share a similar structure centered on faction leadership and governance. Owlcat has new projects in development, including works that explore formulas similar to Mass Effect.
According to Mishulin, the goal is to create RPGs the team itself would enjoy playing. "We want our games to feel like something we would enjoy ourselves and hope that they will inspire someone else to create even better ones."
