It's official: Rockstar Games revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look arrives on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET (12 PM PT, 8 PM BST). The stream will be exclusive to the platform for six hours before hitting Rockstar's official YouTube channel and website at 9 PM ET the same day.
According to IGN, the special promises a far deeper dive into the game than a standard trailer, covering gameplay and story. Netflix VP Brandon Riegg stated, via The Hollywood Reporter, that "Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right" and the company is "honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first."
The announcement comes after weeks of fan speculation. As GameSpot reported, Take-Two scheduled its Q1 FY2027 earnings call for August 7 at an unusual early time, leading analysts to suspect a major GTA 6 announcement could arrive before that date.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for November 2024 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
