CD Projekt, the parent holding company, and CD Projekt Red, the developer behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, have moved to streamline their corporate structure. According to IGN Brasil, both entities approved a unified corporate name that will eliminate the duplication between the holding company and the development studio. The change will come into effect once it receives court approval.
The decision is part of a broader administrative realignment at the company, which also maintains an ambitious portfolio of projects in development. As reported, CD Projekt Red is working on The Witcher 4, a remake of the original Witcher game, a trilogy centered on character Ciri, and a new Cyberpunk title. An unannounced intellectual property is also in the works.
The move comes at a sensitive time for the studio: in recent statements, CD Projekt Red's co-CEO noted that the developer is still working to rebuild its reputation following the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077. The corporate name unification appears designed to strengthen the company's identity heading into its next major releases.
