A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 called enRAGE introduces a Nemesis system inspired by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War to Rockstar's open-world Western. According to Adrenaline, the mechanic makes characters remember player actions, develop their own stories, and gain reasons to hold grudges against Arthur Morgan.
Created by modder nicklovin99, the mod is available on Nexus Mods for Story Mode in early access. As GamesRadar explains, in the enRAGE system, any NPC robbed, beaten, or insulted can become your nemesis, gaining a name, temperament, life story, and a grudge that will drive them to seek you out later.
The core mechanic tracks how rival factions act independently and how each enemy feels toward the player. According to Polygon, the Nemesis system from the Mordor games transformed the series by turning random encounters into personal vendettas that evolve over time, and now this innovation reaches Red Dead Redemption 2 through the modding community.
The enRAGE mod is still in its early stages and may present bugs due to interconnected systems, as the creator warned.
