Confirmed: God of War Laufey will not arrive in February 2027. According to Santa Monica Studio, the game will now launch on May 20, 2027, pushing back the original February 16 release date by approximately three months.
In an official statement shared on social media, the developer said additional time is needed for final polish. "We don't take for granted the trust placed in the studio to make an extraordinary experience worthy of the passion and dedication of our fans. We will make the most of each moment until then by putting in the finishing touches and pushing the game to its fullest potential," Santa Monica said.
The delay steers God of War Laufey away from a crowded February release window. The PS5 exclusive remains in development and represents a series shift, centering on the character Faye and her journey through the Everywhen.
