S-GAME has released the first significant patch for Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 and PC today, bringing bug fixes and balance adjustments to the action title. Among the changes is a nerf to the optional boss Hua, Deadly Betrothed, found in the Weeping Creek Valley region, the game's first main area, whose grab attacks now occur less frequently.
The patch is part of Phantom Blade Zero's post-launch support cycle. The title from S-GAME launched to strong commercial success, selling 4 million copies in just 72 hours and topping Steam's weekly bestsellers list.
Adjustments to early-game bosses after launch are common when player data indicates disproportionate difficulty. Hua was accessible early in the adventure, leaving many players potentially stuck on an encounter deemed too challenging for that point in the experience.
