Pragmata almost had a more horror-focused direction, producer says

During a recent interview, Masachika Kawata, lead producer of Pragmata, revealed that Capcom's upcoming game could have been "a little bit more" horror-focused. In the early stages of development, the team was still experimenting with what type of game the project should be.

According to Kawata, there was a point where the team considered pursuing a more terrifying direction, an approach that often aligns well with sci-fi storytelling. Capcom ultimately chose a different path for the title.

Pragmata is Capcom's new action and sci-fi game following Hugh and Diana in an adventure built around action-driven gameplay and exploration, steering away from the horror approach the developer pursues with its Resident Evil and Onimusha franchises.
