EA Sports confirmed it will remove progression microtransactions from College Football 27 following widespread player criticism. According to the official game account on X, the decision came after fans expressed frustration over progression boosters in Dynasty and Road to Glory modes, the primary single-player content in the football simulator.
The developer's statement acknowledged the misstep: "Your feedback on Road to Glory and Dynasty is that we've missed the mark with the introduction of paid progression options." EA noted the microtransactions were intended to "give players more choice," but the community, led by content creator Bordeaux and mobilized through the #CFBPlayDontPay hashtag, organized a boycott campaign against the practice.
The removal began rolling out the following day.
