It's official: Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold, The Coalition confirmed today. The milestone means the game is finalized and ready for disc manufacturing and digital distribution.
According to Xbox Wire, pre-installation for the title begins September 29. Early Access opens October 1, with the global launch scheduled for October 6 on Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Xbox App, arriving day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
The reveal of PC specifications shows the platform will require a GPU with dedicated ray tracing support. As reported by GameSpot, this means graphics cards without ray tracing technology, such as the GTX 1060 and AMD RX 5000, will not be compatible; the RTX 2060 marks the minimum threshold. The game will need 16GB of RAM across any graphics setting.
The Coalition expressed gratitude to fans and the audience who followed development up to this point, emphasizing that reaching gold marks the proximity of putting the game into players' hands.
