Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the conclusion of Square Enix's remake trilogy, will launch on April 8, 2027 for PlayStation 5. The confirmation came via the PlayStation Blog alongside first details from hands-on play at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi stated the game will occupy approximately 200GB, which is why the physical edition will require an additional online download at launch. Unlike the first two chapters, which shipped entirely across multiple discs, Square Enix opted not to "compromise" on the quality of the final installment.
The Tokyo Game Show demonstration featured the Whirlwind Maze as a focal area, with airship pilot Cid and Vincent as newly playable characters alongside a fresh battle system called FITS. A confrontation against Jenova Deathmourner was highlighted during the hands-on session.
Following the main game, two premium story expansions will release: one focused on Sephiroth and another titled Vincent & the Turks. Both are scheduled between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028. Hamaguchi declined to specify whether the expansions function as prequels or sequels to the main story.
