Xbox denies GTA 6 exclusive cloud streaming rights on PC

After an initial report from The Verge suggested Microsoft had obtained exclusive cloud streaming rights for Grand Theft Auto 6, Xbox moved to deny the claim. According to Matthew Ball, Microsoft's chief strategy officer, the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC".

The rumor originated from a report citing comments CEO Asha Sharma allegedly made during an all-hands meeting, where she suggested Xbox was planning something "no other platform holder is doing" around GTA 6. The statement fueled expectations that Microsoft's cloud gaming platform would allow players to access the title on PC before a native version launched.

The denial clarifies the reality: while a streaming agreement between Xbox and Rockstar may exist for GTA 6, it offers no exclusivity of any kind, nor priority for PC players. Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on Xbox on November 19, with console launch planned before any streaming option becomes available.
